​Mikaela has worked at the CBC as a Joan Donaldson scholar. She graduated from Mount Royal University (MRU) with a Broadcast Media degree in 2024. At MRU, she is known for her work in the Reflector as the Publishing Editor. In 2021, Mikaela was also a recipient of the 2021 OMNI Scholarship award.

Outside of work, she spends most of her time with their family chihuahua, Panchito. When Panchito's busy, you can find Mikaela working on a new sewing project, trying a new recipe, or practicing a cool jiu-jitsu move.
